Introduction to Innovation Forum

6.10pm - 6.30pm

Keynote 1 – Blockchain’s Promise – Reinventing Business by Haydn Jones

Bitcoin was a major innovation. It created a platform which combines store of value, payment and ledger. Ignoring the market hype and many criticisms of the digital currency, bitcoin works. Sitting within the bitcoin protocol is the concept of the blockchain, an equally transformational concept, extensions of which now allow untrusting entities to do business together, data to be shared securely between untrusting entities, and utility tokens to be created which trade like a currency, but have real world use. Blockchain offers much for new businesses; where the internet provides marketing platform, blockchain provides a self contained form of digital commerce. This session will explore the origins of the technology, and suggest where the technology will impact a number of sectors such as healthcare and media.

6.30pm - 6.40pm

6.40pm - 7.00pm

Keynote 2 – Healthcare in Blockchain and the ICO journey by Abdullah Albeyati

Healthcare is an industry which affects all of us in one way or another, as a patient and user of the system ourselves, to a relative or friend who is in need. Blockchain has the ability to change the way we approach our health by encouraging more autonomy and ownership of our own well-being. Medicalchain successfully completed their ICO earlier this year and their CEO, Dr Abdullah Albeyatti will be presenting their company’s vision as well as talk candidly about their ICO experience.

7.00pm - 7.20pm

Keynote 3 – The future economics of tokenisation by Dr Gavin Brown

Richard Banach received the degree of B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics in 1976 from Birmingham University (UK). This was followed in 1977 by a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Science, and in 1979 by a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics, both from Manchester University (UK). The field of study for his doctorate was quantum field theory in topologically non-trivial spacetimes. There followed three further years as a researcher in theoretical physics, studying quantum field theory. In 1982 he joined International Computers Limited working on the development of the ICL 3980 mainframe. There, his main areas of responsibility lay at the hardware/software interface: from address translation microcode, through the design and implementation of the global synchronisation primitives for multinode systems, (the ICL 3900 series machines were probably the first commercially available machines featuring a globally cache coherent, physically distributed virtual memory model), and thence to multinode error recovery strategy.

Josh is a huge advocate of blockchain technology. Having been in crypto for years, Josh founded Easy Crypto Hunter last year. He has quickly made a name for himself in the cryptocurrency industry as the founder of a company which operates on tangibility and transparency. As one of the UK's leading cryptocurrency mining experts, he spends his time speaking about mining to educate people about this part of the crypto space.

Easy Crypto Hunter builds and sells crypto mining rigs, from individual rigs to large scale, fully mobile, crypto containers.
Crypto mining maintains the cryptocurrency network. Each time a transaction on the blockchain occurs, it is mining rigs that enable these transactions to be recorded thus, essentially, powering the network. Each time this happens, the owner of the rig is rewarded with a small amount of the coin or token it is mining for upkeeping the system. It is these mining rigs that Easy Crypto Hunter specialise in building and consulting on.
