Honeycomb Biotechnology is a start-up company that is developing an innovative electrotherapy device for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM). GBM is the most common adult primary brain cancer and it also has amongst the worst outcomes of any cancer. There is no cure and the median survival on the NHS is currently a tragic 14 months post-diagnosis. We are developing a device that we believe can increase the survival of these patients whilst dramatically improving their quality of life. Aside from the immense personal toll on affected families, brain tumours including GBM also cost the UK economy an estimated £578 million each year.

Our approach combines advanced engineering with clinical expertise in neuro-surgery and neuro-oncology. We are currently at an early stage of our prototype development but we have several large R&D projects set to kick off later in 2019. Our aim is for our medical device to be undergoing clinical trials within the next six years.
