Dr Andrea Fotticchia

Andrea is a scientist passionate about regenerative medicine.
He was awarded his master degree in biomedical engineering at the Politecnico of Milan and, after a short experience in a research centre, he moved to Loughborough University to carry on the studies in tissue engineering.
The interest in regenerative medicine carried on obtaining a postdoctoral position at the University of Manchester where he contributed to the development of tendon repair devices.
The collaboration with the University of Manchester further developed through a KTP in collaboration with Crawford Healthcare, a company (now KCI) where he was eventually hired holding the position of Sr Scientist and project manager.

At the University of Manchester he was actively involved in the School of Materials postdoc forum organising events aimed at providing career guidance to PhD students and colleagues.

The experience in both industry and academia, and especially the KTP,
reinforced Andrea's interest in exploring the connection between these two environments from the technology transfer point of view.
