Silvana has been part of innovation and bioscience ecosystems for more than 11 years, and she is very passionate about knowledge exchange, technology transfer and biotech/pharma business development. During her career, she has worked as a connector between academia, the public and the private sectors, helping academic scientists and start-ups connect with key organisations to develop their innovative products further and explore technology transfer opportunities and strategic alliances with international organisations.

Silvana holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular biology and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. During her years as a scientist, she has worked on different innovation projects focused on topics such as Glycobiology, Cardiovascular disease, Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, among others.

Her experience as a scientist allowed her to be part of both scientific and business development teams, in biotech start-ups and research centres. She also had a key role in the formulation and implementation of innovation projects focused on sustainable health development.
